COMMUNITY WORK

Sadiyah is the Founder of “Sistas Elevating Learning and Healing” (SELaH). Since the organization's inception in 2010, it has sought to foster sisterhood in urban cities and empower girls through its work and foremost commitment to community building, increasing literacy, and promoting the arts. With the support of local communities, over the past decade, SELaH has been able to serve hundreds of girls and women in the Philadelphia area, the vicinity of Washington, D.C., and in Kingston, Jamaica, through academic recess programming, the development of educational curricula for adjudicated teen girls, local and international community drives for schools, women's homes, and girls in need, among other volunteer efforts. Recent projects include SELaHSummer, Queens Only, 'the Black Girls Lit(eracy) Project', and ‘Youths fi Learn’. The organization's most recent effort supports one beautiful girl's road to rehabilitation.
